My passion for design has led me across the financial services and travel industry from banks, airline loyalty to SaaS products.
I graduated with a double degree in Business and Hospitality Administration in university not knowing what design was. After dabbling in Marketing and Sales, I finally found my way into design, guided by the only thing I knew then - why do people behave the way they do or buy what they buy?
8 years later, I am still looking for things to learn in design and have no intention of looking back.
Outside of product design, I illustrate under my artist name Panguin and tinker with side projects like this travel podcast WonderTrekker.
I'm hungry to learn from challenges, mistakes and often ask for feedback. I get excited solving complex, technical problems and geek out on continuous improvement in design ops.
Empathizing with users is a bare minimum as a designer. When I think about this value, this also applies to empathizing with my peers and the stakeholders I'm working with. I want to understand the challenges and constraints they face, and who they are as humans outside of work.
I openly share my design process early and often. That means I welcome my team to lurk around my Figma file anytime from scrappy wireframes to hi-fidelity designs, join user research sessions and ideate solutions together (especially pen and paper!).
I deliver work that I'm proud of and will brag a little after delivery - I don't mean to be arrogant but it just means that I'm really excited, and I have been told that my passion is contagious (in the best way possible).
